What is jBatik?
We created software to generate batik pattern by math (fractal) formula which then can be applied to the fabrics. From one fractal formula, the software can generate various patterns by simply changing its parameters. One pattern can also be modified or combined with other patterns, creating various new patterns. They can also be exported to *.jpg, *.png or *.obj file formats. User can also copy the formula provided in Galleries, manipulating the formula, iterations or angles of the fractal to produce various results. End results can be saved in png format for further development.
How does jBatik works?
The first thing you have to do is to write a simple fractal formula called L-System, which then will create patterns. These patterns is in 3 dimensional forms. You can also create patterns using our 2 dimensional form. These patterns are then laid out to create batik patterns. You can also draw a simple pattern first, and then the pattern’s formula will be generated for you. You can then edit and reshape the batik pattern’s formula. You can also import pictures ( in *.jpg or *.png ) which you can arrange using fractal formula for creating batik patterns.
