Meet Batik Enggang Ngibing , the name of batik made by Batik Bintang Lima of Sidoarjo, East Java using jBatik. This pattern uses colorful rainbow color, using Marble Paint Technique, creating a marble-like effect coloring.
This patterns are made using templates from jBatik 4 and traditional patterns, inspired by Enggang (The Hornbills bird) and Merak Ngibing (The Dancing Peacock). The Hornbills bird is believed to be a symbol of greatness and glory that symbolizes the Dayak tribe. Ngibing symbolizes the customs and cultures of Priangan people who are harmonious, peaceful and also joy.
The batik is entirely handmade, using printing and handmade batik techniques.
The colors being used are from artificial dyes.
