Transforming Batik Pattern into Architectural Design Through jARSI

After successfully creating software to make new batik patterns with fractal logic, now jBatik continues to innovate. Using the parametric design system at jBatik, they thrive to change 2D batik patterns to 3D. This experiment was then moved even further by applying 3D batik patterns as architectural object. From there, jARSI born as Piksel Indonesia’s latest software.

In this journal, Muhamad Lukman and Dimas Yusuf Danurwenda explained the developments they made in jBatik’s software to become JARSI. They took examples of 3D Kawung batik patterns, as well as architectural models taken from Bungong Seulana flower from Aceh. The jARSI will open new possibilities on creatin authentic, beautiful, and distinctive cultural-based architectural design.

Setelah berhasil menciptakan software untuk membuat pola-pola batik baru dengan logika fractal, kini jBatik terus berinovasi. Menggunakan sistem desain parametrik di jBatik, mereka menjajal kemungkinan mengubah pola batik 2D ke 3D. Percobaan ini lalu dibawa lebih jauh, yaitu percobaan pengaplikasian pola batik 3D jadi obyek arsitektur. Dari situlah software terbaru dari CV Piksel Indonesia lahir, jARSI.

Dalam jurnal ini, Muhamad Lukman dan Dimas Yusuf Danurwenda menjelaskan perkembangan yang mereka buat di software jBatik hingga jadi jARSI. Mereka mengambil contoh pola 3D batik kawung, serta model arsitektur yang terinspirasi dari bunga Bungong Seulana dari Aceh. Software jARSI  akan membuka ruang kemungkinan baru untuk membuat rancangan arsitektur berbasis budaya yang otentik, cantik, dan distingtif.
